Arts Festival "Mexico Now" took place September 8-20, 2009.



Mariachi band brought by LASA and Iniciativa Mexicana to party at Columbia's School of International and Public Affairs, September 16, 2009.




Annual dinner of the Mexican Chamber of Commerce Northeast Chapter, September 18, 2009.



Representatives from Governor Paterson and Mayor Bloomberg read signed statements directed to the Mexican community in New York and written specifically for the event.

Here the representatives are accompanied at the podium by Mexican Consul in New York, Ruben Beltran, and the Executive Director of the Mexican Chamber of Commerce, Alejandro Ramos.

Not too bad for a formerly invisible community, now laying down roots and creating institutional links with the New York mainstream.
